FarmCon 21 - Day-2

Giants have announced that their newest game, Farming Simulator 22 will be released on November 22, 2021. It is still a lot of time to wait for, about three months. Yesterday and today, Giants have talked about the newest features of their game to get people excited. There will also be a session tomorrow showing out more new features.

This day, they have talked more about the gameplay. The game looked very clean and fantastic. As we mentioned earlier in the previous post for FarmCon Day-1, the blue HUD will be featured in the game. In the gameplay, we come to know more awesome information about the new production chains. Wheat can be converted to flour by grinding it in one production chain. With the flour, you can make bread or cake using the necessary ingredients to prepare cake in the bakery. We know from this that all the products that can be prepared are interconnected. They can be separated as primary products (E.g. Wheat, eggs, milk), secondary products (Flour), and final products (Cake). These production chains will have a massive change in the game.

In the gameplay, we also see that old vehicles have been added to the game. We see an old John Deere and a Massey Ferguson tractor. All features like front loading, bale stacking, etc. will all be included in the game in an improved and enhanced manner. Apart from these, the game will feature forestry as the previous Farming Simulator games. It will have the same terrain modification features same as Farming Simulator 19 with a more improved layout and more options. There will be more character customizations than in the previous games. The minimap at the edge of the game window was made to a rounded shape rather than a squared shape like the previous games. The most important feature of this is that it will rotate automatically every way you turn. This will make gameplay easier to navigate around.

We also see that the cows in the background behaved realistically, all the animals too! Baby animals will also be in the game rather than all of them being adults. More new machines for taking care of animals and feeding them will be available in the game. This is the first time that a branded cowshed will be featured inside the game rather than a Lizard brand. Some machines which do not have a brand or that Giants could not find will be featured inside the Lizard brand.

The textures on the field looked great. It has more realism to it. With the new parallax occlusion feature, it will look more realistic. The field can be cultivated with a plow or disc harrow or a normal cultivator. Using a plow will take a lot of time for weeds to grow back. Using a disc harrow or a cultivator will make weeds grow faster. All of this adds more realism to the game. Fertilization using slurry can be simultaneously before and after cultivating. This reduces the cumbersome process of going back to the field for fertilizing after the first growth stage of the crop. This was only said for slurry and not for the others. More features are yet to be announced or we would have to find out.

Previous Day of FarmCon 21

This game would be very good for people who are starting up with Farming Simulator for the first time. For tutorials, the field will be of a square shape to help people adapt to farming in the game. The game also has packs especially for beginners to help them find all the machines they need for doing a task like forestry, baling, seeding, harvesting, or taking care of specific animals. We have also seen the textures of the new crop, sorghum.

Features to know about:

• Seasons will be available base-game as discussed above. Giants also said that seasons can be turned off in the game. Various aspects in the game also change with the change in seasons.
• Production chains have been added to the base game to make intermediate products for selling and making more money. We would normally sell the primary products in Farming Simulator 19.
• Farming Simulator 22 comes with 3 base game maps. One of the new maps is Elmcreek while the other is unknown. The third map is an expanded version of the alpine DLC map.
• As is the case with Farming Simulator 19 and Farming Simulator 17, Farming Simulator 22 will support mods that we can download from the in-game mod hub or the website.
• Farming Simulator 22 features a new engine from Giants Software. This new engine is called Giants Engine 9.0. This engine makes it easier for modders to build maps using a new interface.
• Parallax occlusion is included in the game. This feature changes the way we look at textures for more realism.
• The new Collector's edition for Farming Simulator 22 features a beacon light, stickers, posters, modding tutorial, and the game itself.
