FarmCon 21 - Day-1 - Farming Simulator 22
Giants have announced that their newest game, Farming Simulator 22 will be released on November 22, 2021. It is still a lot of time to wait for, about three months. In the next two days, Giants will announce more information about the game. This day, they talked about the new map for Farming Simulator 22, Elmcreek. Elmcreek is an American-inspired map.
The live stream started with the introduction of the people working behind Giants Software with a funny animation. Later, they talked about the Elmcreek farm map. According to what they have said, the map features irregularly shaped fields, production chains, and more. The boundaries of the map, unlike other maps, do not have water bodies. The map has about 80 fields. With that amount of fields and many other important buildings, we could see that this is a large map.
We also saw glimpses of the new HUD in the game which is shown in blue. They have also talked about the new season's chart showing the times when to plant or harvest crops. The new season feature in-game cannot be turned and seasonal cycles of summer, winter, autumn, and spring will occur throughout the period of time. With that said, there is also an option to turn off planting times for crops. This will allow us to plant any type of crops during any time of the season and harvest them too. We can consider this to make up for not having the option of turning off the season option.
FarmCon 21 was planned differently from the previous FarmCon's. Instead of making one huge episode for a day showing all the features, Giants have decided to split up the main features of the game and show them on three consecutive days. With the first day today getting over, we still have two more sessions of FarmCon 21 tomorrow and the day after tomorrow.
Apart from the new map and its features, they have talked about how they have made the animations for the cinematic trailer for the game. This trailer was filled with awesome animations and they have explained it breaking it up to the core. The new Giants Engine features high performance to the overall game. More information will be released in the upcoming two sessions of FarmCon 21.
