List of Airbus' Commercial Planes

Airbus is a European aerospace company. Its headquarters is located in Leiden, Netherlands. It manufactures commercial and military aerospace products. It is a main rival to Boeing, an American aerospace manufacturer. They are also credited for introducing the digital fly-by-wire system in airplanes.

1. A300

• The Airbus A300 is the first commercial aircraft manufactured by Airbus. It is also the first twin-jet wide body. It is the aircraft from which the Airbus Beluga (A freighter) is made.
• Its variants were the A300B1, A300B2, A300B4, -600, A300B10 and the -600ST.
• It makes use of two engines.
• It could carry about 247 passengers.
• Airbus stopped A300 production in 2007.

2. A310

• It was developed after the A300 and is smaller than it. It was built because of the demand for a lower capacity plane than the A300.
• Its variants were the -200, -200C, -200F, -300, -300C, -300F

• Airbus stopped production of the A310 in 2007 along with the A300.

This family of aircraft includes 4 airplanes. The A320, A318, A319, and the A321.

• It carries up to 244 passengers.

All versions of the family have two engines, share the same type-rating and training and are exactly similar in all ways. They only differ in the lengths of the fuselage.

4. A330

• The A330 is a wide-body jet that was developed with the A340. It is also the aircraft from which the Airbus Beluga XL is made.
• Its variants are the -200, -200F, -300, -800NEO and the -900NEO.
• It is a twin-jet.
• It can carry from 250 - 290 passengers.

5. A340

• The A340 is the first quad-jet made by Airbus. It was built to meet the needs of airlines demanding for quad-jets. It is also known for its unique middle main gear.
• Its variants are the -200, -300, -500 and the -600
• It can carry 320 - 370 passengers.
• Airbus ended production of the A340 in 2011.

6. A350

• The A350 is built to be the successor of the A340 and a competitor for the Boeing 777x and the 787-10 Dreamliner.
• It is a twin-jet.
• Its variants are the -900, -900ULR (Ultra Long Range), and the -1000.
• It can carry between 300 and 350 passengers.

7. A380

• The A380 is the largest commercial aircraft in the world. It was built for being a competitor for the widely successful Boeing 747. It also has the nickname, the 'Superjumbo'.
• It is a quad-jet and makes use of four engines.
• It is of only one variant, the -800.
• It can carry about 544 passengers.
• Airbus would end production of the A380 in this year, 2021.

• The A220 was an aircraft that was designed by Bombardier, an American manufacturer. Airbus bought and acquired the project and named it the A220. It was earlier named the Bombardier CS 100.
